Rebuilding can be done in stages, or all at once. A complete restoration would include a piano case refinishing as well as a full rebuild. There are many options in deciding when to rebuild, how much to rebuild or even if it's the best idea. These decisions are personal and will vary case to case. Buying a piano that has already been rebuilt or restored is another option.
